Ministry of Defence

The UK possesses one of the largest armed forces in the world, after the USA, Russia and China. The Ministry of Defence takes its responsibility for resettling service leavers very seriously and provides extensive training options for service leavers to help them get professionally equipped for civilian life and, ultimately, to find civilian employment when they leave. It is important to the MoD that the training they offer to their service leavers is valued and credible to organisations outside of the military.

In 2010 Capable People won a long term contract contract to deliver a series of quality management system lead auditor training courses for UK Armed Forces service leavers. Each 7 day program includes the 2 day IRCA registered QMS Internal Auditor courses as a foundation, followed by the 5 day IRCA registered Lead Auditor course. Demand is high for Capable People courses and they are always fully subscribed. In addition to our contracted training work, Capable People has also been able to introduce the Resettlement Office (Career Transition Partnership) to some of our other clients and, so far, we have been directly instrumental in helping them establish a link with a major international engineering company that has committed to accepting up to 20 service leavers per year. The success of this initial wave of training has led to the expansion of the program to include regular OHSMS Lead Auditor training.

Out of everything that we do at the moment, this is amongst the most rewarding. We are proud to have been chosen to support the resettlement program. Capable People is an ELCAS approved provider, number 6506.
