Oh, the people we know …

We don’t have to tell you how good we are. We get sensational people to do that for us, people like ….

Gill Dando, Site Compliance Specialist, MedImmune …

“I initially completed the QMS Internal Auditor Course with Capable People and found the content and learning processes invaluable at work. It also helped fast-track my career. I went on to complete the QMS Lead Auditor Course, which was lead by Shaun. The course was very in depth and covered some heavy and technical ground, however Shaun managed to make the sessions interesting. The learning experience was extremely hands-on, fun and thought provoking too. I found the course much more interesting than I had expected and we really got the chance to delve into the subject matter but still have the flexibility and scope to discuss topics further and try them out. Since I finished the course I have used the skills pretty much every day and it has certainly been a massive boost to my career in the pharmaceutical industry. I am now a site compliance specialist and lead auditor for a global biopharma company, in these times of recession it was certainly the possession of the IRCA qualifications that gave me access to this role

One of the best things about Capable People is that the end of the course does not coincide with a closed door. They  have an excellent blog site where you can see the most up to date information and hot topics under discussion and they also provide great after care and they have supported me with tips and ideas when I have had queries even a year or more after finishing”

Christine Hughes, Quality Assurance Manager, Burtons Foods …

“When I decided to leave after 26 years service, Burtons offered to help me with my future plans by offering me a budget for some training. I was looking for an ISO Lead Auditor Training Course and discovered Capable People via an internet search. Booking the course was easy, the price was very competitive and Shaun Sayers, who presented the course, was very helpful and even arranged accommodation for me.The course was well structured and delivered in a positive personable manner. After attending the course I found it had increased my confidence and drew out my existing skills, so much so that a few months later when I was asked to present an Internal Auditing Training course at a sister site, I jumped at the chance. I was told to book myself onto a Train the Trainer Course, prior to presenting the course. I immediately thought of Capable People, as I was confident that they would provide everything I needed. Once again Shaun produced a truly effective training programme. The courses have been invaluable to me and I will use everything I have learned throughout the remainder of my working life. The service didn`t finish there, Shaun has gone on to help and advise me on any problems and/or questions I have had since. I feel motivated and positive about the future and am confident that Shaun will be there to advise me if I need him”

Billy Naisbett, Managing Director, IsoSystems …

“With Capable People the constant interaction between students and teacher makes the entire course interesting and enjoyable – I certainly gained a lot from it. The well balanced mixture of handouts, learning materials, case studies, role playing and use of DVDs certainly worked for me. I both learned a great deal about the subject matter and had fantastic time. I would, and do, recommend Capable People to my clients and associates”

Steve Brazier, Managing Director, Central Training Ltd …

“I had been invited to attend a Lead Auditor course by my customer, SSAIB, for whom I am an associate assessor. Having been in the private security industry since 1977 I have attended many training courses over the years, many of which have inflicted death by powerpoint. How is this Lead Auditor course any different? The answer is simple – the teaching methods used by the tutor (Shaun) facilitated learning right from the start. On the course there was a mix of candidates, all with different levels of existing knowledge. As well as his thorough knowledge of the subject, Shaun’s patience and knowledge of how to treat people with different abilities and learning styles was apparent. In an area like quality management systems where everything can be prescriptive, he used lots of practical examples to help people relate the subject to the real world. Additionally the course was structured so that the underpinning knowledge required to successfully complete the course was put in place at an early stage. That is not to say the course was easy, on the contrary, it was quite challenging. However Shaun appeared to know when to push us a little more and when to back off to allow us to absorb information. I had never heard of Capable People before the course but I would recommend them to my customers or indeed anyone looking to attend a course in this field”

Lynn Watts-Plumpkin, Scheme Manager, SSAIB …

“I attended the Lead Auditors Course held by Capable People at the SSAIB offices in North Shields.  I had previously attended a similar course in 2002 but did not have the opportunity to conduct many assessments and those I did conduct I felt there was something missing; therefore I attended the Capable People course as a refresher.  I found the course to be enlightening and very interesting and now I have a clearer picture of the requirements and how the ISO 9000 series work together. I have since conducted an ISO 9001:2008 assessment as a Lead Auditor, it is all much clearer and the ‘missing something’ experienced prior to the course has now disappeared. As the SSAIB Scheme Manager for manned services I conduct several different types of assessment, including the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), the Lead Auditor course will be very beneficial for these assessments, as we covered auditing techniques, question styles, body language as well as the international standards which equips you for all walks of life

Our instructor for the course was Shaun Sayers. Shaun has vast experience with the ISO 9000 series and was able t put across the course with enthusiasm, as well as personal experience and anecdotes that made the course interesting. Considering it was a week’s course with long days and an exam at the end of it (or a “quiz” if you suffer from exam phobia) time flew by. The role play and team work helped develop our knowledge and the use of the standards along the way. I am extremely happy to recommend Capable People and hope to attend the Advanced Environmental Auditor Course soon”

Austus-Caesar Okereke, GE Oil & Gas Drilling & Production …

“I was looking forward to doing a QMS Lead Auditor Course to ISO 9001:2008, but I wanted something different from the typical classroom type training, and I wanted a good rate. So I attended this Capable People training course, delivered by Shaun Sayers. To date I can say that it is the best training course I have attended in terms of content, timing, organisation and flexibility. It was superb and I am so glad I attended it

The classes were very interactive, not the typical teacher-student thing. At certain points on the course the teacher became the student and vice versa. The package was rich and Shaun was so clever knowing when to proceed, when to pause and when to take a break. I have recommended this training to my colleagues

The course has given me the confidence to build my Quality Department, audit our vendors and it has also given me an edge to help boost my career. Auditing can be a huge challenge, but Capable People has a way of making it simple. The training does not end after the course as Capable People are always happy to talk to you, answer your questions and give you direction on any subject”

Phil Knowles, Health & Safety Advisor, WD Close & Sons …

“I recently attended the OHSAS  18001 lead auditor course that was delivered by Shaun Sayers. I particularly found the role play to be realistic and valuable. I’m sure that I will benefit in the future from the guidance that Shaun provided. On more than one occasion I was lost for words and a time out was called to assess where I had gone wrong and what I could do differently. It’s better to find out what can go wrong in the classroom than actually on the job

If you want to sit through endless slides, go through the motions and come  away with a certificate then don’t go on a Capable People course. Shaun will make you work all week. Definitely worth the time and effort”

Linda Darwent, Curriculum Co-ordinator, VC Train …

“VC Train is the umbrella organisation of a consortium of 102 Voluntary and Community service providers. As part of our roles all 16 staff were given the opportunity to take part in the Internal Audit training. Most of the staff volunteered eagerly, I however thought it would not be relevant to my role, and even worse imagined this training to be the most boring on earth, so didn’t volunteer. My line Manager thought it would be beneficial to my role to take part, so with some trepidation, and having no idea what internal auditing involved I turned up on day one rather reluctantly

I’m so glad I did now

Shaun the tutor is a very friendly chap who puts you immediately at ease. His delivery of the sessions is dynamic and very informative and he clearly has an excellent knowledge and understanding of what could potentially be a boring subject. There is a lot of information to take in but the pace and the resources used in the  delegate packs ensure that participants walk away after two days with a real in depth knowledge of what’s required, this was really refreshing I as often find that short courses just skim the surface.  Not this one…

I was so impressed I immediately offered our member organisations the chance to take part in the training. The response was terrific and the feedback from the first two courses (24 people) has been not just 100% positive, but also glowing reports saying how useful the training is

Speaking from both a trainee and a facilitator’s point of view I can honestly say nothing has been too much trouble and the customer service we have received from Capable People has been first rate.  I would definitely recommend them to any organisation or individual considering using their services

Claire Dores, Student Services Manager, Gloucester College

“Gloucestershire College Student Services has been very impressed with the professionalism and value for money offered by Capable People.  At all times, we got all the help and support we needed to ensure we successfully gained the ISO 9001:2008 standard within specified time scales and budgetary parameters.  Shaun has always been available to offer advice and guidance on any issues we have had both during and after the process.  We are extremely delighted with the service we received and want to thank Shaun for all his help”

Alan Williamson, QA Manager, Rainbow Training Centre

“When I enrolled with Capable People for ISO 9001 Auditor training in Autumn 2008, I was hoping that if I was to attain the qualification,  it would enable me to progress along the quality career path.At that time I was working as a Quality and Training Technician with Caterpillar and although the company was a good one, the organisation had quite a flat structure and progression seemed limited

The standard of training I received on the 5 day course enabled me to raise my own game enough to pass the exam.  I was delighted to receive my Certificate.I found the course difficult at first due to the fact that my actual job did not employ auditor skills, rather, a sound product knowledge, strong quality instincts and the application of lean manufacturing techniques were the drivers of good performance at work

I am indebted to Capable People because Shaun was willing and able to spend 1 to 1 time with his learners and never failed to fully explain the finer points when we did not quite ‘get it’. The course was both serious in content and fun to participate in. We were encouraged to contribute , discuss and debate issues from our own employment perspectives. The biscuits were great too

Before I was able to consider external employment alternatives the ‘credit crunch’ arrived and orders dried up. My redundancy followed in April 2009. After 3 months of domestic ‘bliss’ I was fortunate enough to secure a job as QA manager with Rainbow Training Centre, a training company in Middlesbrough. They are experts at providing apprenticeships in childcare. I am optimistic of playing an important part in their future growth, beginning with designing and implementing their first QMS. (hard work, but rewarding)

There is no doubt in my mind that the experience of the course was as defining for me as receiving the award itself because it helped to develop my greater understanding of quality management. I am now a certified quality-obsessed capable person “

… and yes. They really did say all of those nice things …
